Cookie Notice.
Version 2026-09-16 · in effect from 16 September 2026
We set two cookies, and both exist to keep you signed in. There is nothing here for advertising, nothing that follows you to other websites, and nothing that builds a profile of you.
That is why you have not been shown a banner asking you to accept cookies. The law requires consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary. We do not set any, so there is nothing to ask you about. If that ever changes, we will ask before setting anything, and you will be able to say no and still use the site.
What we set
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
sb-…-auth-token | Holds your sign-in session, so you are not asked to sign in again on every page, and renews it quietly rather than signing you out mid-sentence. Set by our sign-in provider, Supabase. It is sometimes split across several numbered cookies with the same name, because a session can be longer than one cookie may hold. | Until it expires or you sign out |
sb-…-auth-token-code-verifier | Set for a few seconds while you sign in with an email link, to confirm the link was opened in the browser that asked for it. Deleted as soon as you are signed in. | The length of one sign-in |
The gap in the middle of each name is the identifier of our database project, which is why it is shown that way here.
Counting page views
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages get read, and Vercel Speed Insights to see how quickly they load. Neither sets a cookie, stores anything on your device or tracks you between sites. Between them they tell us that a page was viewed, roughly from where, on what kind of device, and how long it took to appear.
Things other people set
If you pay us, the payment itself happens on Stripe’s own checkout pages. Stripe sets its own cookies there, on its own domain, to spot fraud and keep the payment working. Their notice covers those, not this one.
Turning them off
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking ours will stop you signing in, because signing in is what they do. Reading the jobs board without an account works fine with cookies blocked.
